President Trump signs Omnibus bill into law
While we have seen no hard-copy press reports, we know that President Trump signed this legislation earlier today from other media. We are told by NCBFAA that the bill includes retroactive renewal of GSP, but we are unable to confirm it as of late Friday afternoon. We will confirm this Monday, and issue a special newsletter at that time.
Whether or not GSP is being renewed retroactively, for those of you whose entries were subject to GSP until it expired last Dec 31, we have been flagging your entries so that Customs will automatically send refunds to the importer of record at the address on file with them in ABI. This is the address shown on the CF 7501 we send with our invoice for each entry. We urge you to check a recent CF 7501 to insure the address is correct, and notify us immediately if it is not. If your address is not correct in ABI, then not only will your refund checks be returned, Customs will suspend your continuous bond until the address is corrected.
Again, we will confirm Monday that GSP has been renewed retroactively.
