Lufthansa Cargo decreases Airfreight Surcharge to 0.95 USD per kg
The sum of cost components in our airfreight surcharge has decreased in the past weeks. Consequently, Lufthansa Cargo is decreasing its Airfreight Surcharge, effective June 13, 2022, from 1.00 to 0.95 USD per kg chargeable freight weight. Please note, the AWB issue date, not the flight date, determines the applicable Airfreight Surcharge.

U.S. Warns on Inadvertent Hiring of North Korean Workers
A new federal advisory warns of attempts by North Korean information technology workers to obtain employment, including in the field of business, while posing as non-North Korean nationals. According to the advisory, North Korea “dispatches thousands of highly skilled IT workers around the world to generate revenue that contributes to its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs, in violation of U.S. and UN sanctions.” In many cases these workers represent themselves as teleworkers based in the U.S., South Korea, China, Japan, or Eastern Europe. Importers Warned of Enforcement Action Over Forced Labor Law (From Sandler Travis & Rosenberg)
CBP has begun issuing letters notifying importers identified as having previously imported goods that may be subject to the UFLPA (Uyghur) that any future entries of such goods may be subject to CBP enforcement action, including seizures, forfeitures, and/or penalties. Please call us immediately if you receive such a letter. Further, we strongly urge you to take proactive steps to insure NOTHING in your supply comes from the XUAR (Uyghur) province in China.
